This passage of scripture shows us that a fully devoted follower of Jesus lives to serve, knowing that each person we encounter is made in the image of God and bears His likeness. As we continue in Malachi, we are reminded that tithing is an exercise in trusting God, it honors God by recognizing that He is the one who provides it and it opens us to experience God's blessing.

God promises the reward of restoration in response to our repentance. Rather than finding our sacrifices and prayer wearisome, God promises to restore things to what they were meant to be.
