In this powerful opening message of our Backwards Kingdom series, we step into Gospel of Matthew 5:1–12 and explore the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. In God’s Kingdom, the poor are rich, the meek inherit, the persecuted rejoice—and the spiritually bankrupt are called blessed. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” In a world obsessed with achievement, performance, and image, Jesus reaveals the truth: The Kingdom of Heaven is something we receive, not something we achieve.
