This Sunday, as we continued Week Three of our James series, we discovered the incredible power of our words. Our words have the power to direct—shaping the course of our lives and influencing others; the power to destroy—wounding, dividing, and causing lasting damage; and the power to bless—bringing encouragement, healing, and life. James reminds us that our speech is ultimately a reflection of what is happening in our hearts.

Jesus said, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” As followers of Christ, we are called not only to control our tongues but to allow the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts so that our words honor God and bless those made in His image.
